We love audio dramas!

Our review of Heirloom Audio Productions Captain Bayley’s Heir was filled with adventure from England to the Mississippi River and the California Gold Rush. The main plot keeps you in suspense over the fate of Frank who is desperate to clear his name from false accusation, while several other sub-plots add intrigue to the entire audio adventure. The professional cast, strong soundtrack and effects combined with G.A. Henty’s authorship and Bill Heid’s production team at Heirloom Audio Productions created a riveting story, making our family time unique and fun-filled. Continue reading “We love audio dramas!”

Audio Drama – the best Review!

Our review of Heirloom Audio Productions In the Reign of Terror kept all three of us captivated during our long hours of summer travel. What a thrill to be transported back in time to the days of the French Revolution through this superb radio drama production. We experienced the truth of history through the life of Harry whose tenure with a Christian French Aristocratic family painted a firm picture of what living during the days of the Robespierre must have been like. The professional cast, strong soundtrack and effects combined with G.A. Henty’s authorship and Bill Heid’s production team at Heirloom Audio created a riveting story, making 2 1/2 hours of road travel pass in a blink. Continue reading “Audio Drama – the best Review!”

A Review of Whistlefritz Spanish Program

Because we love communicating with our friends in Venezuela and other Spanish-speaking countries, our daughter was so excited to review the Educator’s Spanish Collection from Whistlefritz. Although we all try using little phrases, Daddy is the only one who has reached a conversational level of Spanish.  The Whistlefritz Educator’s Spanish Collection uses exciting, immersive techniques to teach basic Spanish to pre-K or early elementary children. Can we learn Latin?

Mail Call and here comes the Memoria Press magazine! This magazine, which includes interesting articles about education, mostly, of course, stemming from a classical approach to learning, stirred an interest in the Memoria Press program Prima Latina Complete Set, which is why we were so excited when the opportunity to review the product was offered. Continue reading “Can we learn Latin?”

Mommy has a Moment with a GOOD BOOK!

From tears of “I can’t read that!” and a poor curriculum…to a teacher who used simple phonics instruction and contagious inspiration to develop the love and enjoyment for reading, that has brought me to a time now, as an adult, that I love to sneak in a few relaxing moments occasionally to leave the everyday and soak up a good book like the one I found during a recent book review – The Secret Bridge from Lamplighter Publishing. Continue reading “Mommy has a Moment with a GOOD BOOK!”

It’s that time of year

20170311_104131.jpgWho ever knew a kid could be so excited about achievement tests! Well, leave it to AbiNoelle to get excited about a test. It’s hard to believe that we are within a month of completing the K5 school year! Soon our little worker will finish that last page of seatwork (What a RELIEF!), look back at all she has accomplished this year, and with a smile of satisfaction be able to enjoy a good time of celebration with our homeschool group, friends, and family.

Just yesterday she came moping into where I was with a test paper Continue reading “It’s that time of year”

I’d Rather Be Mommy Book Review

Don’t you love a good book? It has been a strong goal of ours to develop a love of learning in our daughter and one way of accomplishing that has been to provide good books and stories, whether it be in print, digital, or audio versions. AbiNoelle never turns down a good story! That’s why we agreed to a book review of I’d Rather Be Your Mommy by the Home School Adventure Co. Continue reading “I’d Rather Be Mommy Book Review”

Adding a few extras

Memories were made and miles logged over this CHRISTmas season, and now, it is January 2017 with regular school days back in session, albeit, with a fresh little bit of spice for life in some new resources AbiNoelle enjoyed during the break. Some of the “NEW” expanded her imagination, others stretched those brain cells, but one we share and review today, Continue reading “Adding a few extras”
